The project is located at the Kunbei Converter Station in Luquan County, Kunming City, Yunnan Province, with a landing point in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province, at the Liubei Converter Station, and a landing point in Longmen County, Huizhou City, Guangdong Province, at the Longmen Converter Station. The recommended path for the Wudongde DC transmission line has a total length of 1489 kilometers and an altitude ranging from 100 to 3058 meters. Among them, the Kunbei-Liubei section is 932 kilometers long, passing through Yunnan, Guizhou, and Guangxi, with approximately 251 kilometers in Yunnan, approximately 290 kilometers in Guizhou, and approximately 391 kilometers in Guangxi (west section). The Liubei-Longmen section is 557 kilometers long, passing through Guangxi and Guangdong, with approximately 271 kilometers in Guangxi (east section) and approximately 286 kilometers in Guangdong.

The construction contents of the project include: (1) new construction of Yunnan sending-end converter station and corresponding grounding electrode and grounding electrode lines; (2) new construction of Guangxi receiving-end converter station and corresponding grounding electrode lines; (3) new construction of Guangdong receiving-end converter station and corresponding grounding electrode and grounding electrode lines; (4) new construction of Yunnan sending-end to Guangdong receiving-end DC transmission line (about 1489 km); (5) new construction of AC π connection line at the Liubei Converter Station. The construction unit of the project is the Ultra-high Voltage Transmission Company of China Southern Power Grid Company Limited, and the construction nature is new construction. The project involves 4 provincial-level administrative regions, 16 prefecture-level administrative regions, and 40 county-level administrative regions in Yunnan Province, Guizhou Province, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and Guangdong Province. The construction contents of the project in Yunnan Province include: (1) ±800kV sending-end converter station and corresponding grounding electrode and grounding electrode lines; (2) ±800kV DC transmission lines of about 251 kilometers. The construction sites involve 6 districts and counties, such as Luquan County, Xundian County, and Dongchuan District in Kunming City, and Huize County, Zhanyi District, and Fuyuan County in Qujing City.
